personality
Doesn’t matter if we’ve gone too far
Hermione can be both stern and caring. She often takes an almost motherly role with the boys, both when it comes to calling them out on their bullshit and when it comes to protecting them: from themselves, from each other and from whatever it is attacking them at the moment. But regardless if she's being soft or harsh, she always thinks what she's doing/saying is the best for them and will help them somehow.
She is also a highly logical person. She can easily spot patterns in behaviors and information. But as a very passionate person, she can get very emotionally involved a lot of the time, which can and will cloud her judgement. One example is the creation and involvement with S.P.E.W., which from her point of view made perfect sense but from the elves's point of view, she wasn't always necessarily helping. In cases like this, it might take someone else to show her a different point of view and point out rationally why her actions don't make sense or aren't the best option.
As a perfect 'Lawful Good' character, she tends to follow the laws/rules for as long as they seem fair, but over the years she has learned that they aren't always what really is the best for the people. She won't bend a rule just to benefit from it herself, but she will if it means protecting and helping others. Any kind of dictatorship (Umbridge/Voldemort) will cause her to rebel quickly and want to help those who are being affected by what she perceives as cruel or unfair.
While she would never choose to harm someone out of spite, she is no saint. Hermione doesn't like people who seem too dumb or too illogical. If she has to deal with them for an extended period of time, she will get very irritated and snappy. She can be very competitive with people who seem to want to outsmart her. And she will be very passive aggressive to other girls who are getting too much attention

Family Her parents are both muggles, dentists.
characters from canon verse: Hermione is coming in directly after she modified her parents memories and left her home to meet with Ron and Harry.
They're about to make sure Harry is safe when he has to leave the protection of Privet Drive, so a lot of her mindset is focusing on the task at hand. Because it is what is getting her through the choices she knew she had to make.
Hermione had a good, strong relationship with her parents. Even if they became a little more distant since she left for Hogwarts and entered the Wizarding World, they were still great, supportive parents and they got along well. So having to make them forget her existence was not at all an easy task for her to carry our but she knew it was the right one. Her thoughts about it are: they will be safe in Australia while the trio helps save the Wizarding World and if she makes it back home, she will revert the spell and bring them back home too.
It's both a selfless act in the sense that it is very hard for her to know that her parents have no clue who she is, but it's for their own good. And a selfish act since it will help her focus on the task at hand without having to worry about protecting them or whether or not they're safe.
As for the Wizarding World, where she is from, Voldemort and his followers are growing stronger. Dumbledore is gone. Things are a mess. However, the Ministry hasn't fallen yet, so she doesn't see everything as gloom and dark as it could be. There's still some hope that they won't have to handle everything on their own, even if she expects to be involved along with Ron, Harry and the members of the Order.
abilities
Doesn’t matter if it’s not our day
Technically Hermione doesn't have special abilities other than being incredibly intelligent and a quick learner. Both of those things makes her an amazing spell caster and potion maker. She got 9 Outstandings and 1 Exceeding Expectation in her O.W.L.s.
When it comes to her magical abilities, Hermione's weaknesses come from her inability to think outside the box. She can follow the steps to perfection but whenever she touches something that requires a different solution than what is written in a book, she tends to fail. One example is in Half Blood Prince when she's having a harder time making potions than Harry because he's following Snape's notes rather than the step by step from the books. Or divination where there are no rules per say.
She is able to produce a patronus (an otter), so eventually she can learn things that aren't necessarily taught in books but that instead need to come from within. It just takes her longer to excel at them.

[Hermione doesn't quite trust the pen. For some reason, it feels like she's exposing herself. Or worse, like she's writing in a thing like Tom Riddle's diary.
But she supposes she has no choice but to try, really. Not with the incredible lack of actual information she's found on books and the Daily Prophet so far.
Her face is slightly red as she takes a deep breath and starts writing on an empty desk at the library. She hates lying but she's learned that it's a necessary evil more often than not.]
Hello. Could anyone recommend me a reliable source for current information? Other than the Daily Prophet, of course.

They say we’re crazy
I'm totally okay with her getting a lot of trouble for being muggle-born! I think this will be super fun and limit her know-it-allness a lot. Make her feel down on herself and unable to help as much until someone reminds her that this is exactly what Voldie wants and brings her around again!
